ABOUT DIRECTOR:

Samira Norouznasseri is an Iranian writer and filmmaker who directed several shorts including Chocolate Chips Cookies, Bear and August. She studied film at the Art University of Tehran. While in college, she published several critical film essays and wrote several plays for Farhang (culture) radio channel. After graduation she moved to Boston, US to pursue her studies and art practice as a fellow at Emerson College. Influenced by American independent filmmakers she made short videos which dealt with family dynamics and its representation in home videos. A theme that was developed in her thesis film, Bear and August.
